A short walk from the beach, harbour and close to the local attractions, this is a homely and inviting cottage for up to four with plenty of loving touches for a memorable stay.

This homely, stone-built property dates back to the 18th Century when it was originally a local village pub known as ‘The Badger’.  With new owners from March 2019, it has been renovated to a high standard and furnished in a contemporary and quirky style and has become a lovely, inviting place for a family  or friends' holiday close to the beach, bustling harbour, coastal paths and many of the local attractions in and around Seahouses on the Northumberland coast.  It is within close proximity to a number of shops and restaurants and is just a short drive from the many historical and natural treasures that Northumberland offers. Take day trips to the nearby historical Bamburgh Castle or Alnwick Castle, the latter doubled for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. Close by, you can take a boat trip from Seahouses' harbour across to the Farne islands to see puffins, and seals at  various times of the year and a wide range of bird life all year round

The entrance is through the rear door into the bright  utility room with a washing machine. This leads directly into the well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and cafetière. Moving through to the light and airy dining room with its feature fireplace, beautiful, fresh décor and large dining table with comfortable chairs where you can enjoy your meals in together . Across the hallway, you will find the cosy lounge area, with a comfortable sofa and two stylish armchairs. Snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove for those relaxing nights in catching up on your favourite film on DVD. There is a TV/DVD, a selection of films, books and a variety of games to keep the whole family occupied. On the first floor, there are two spacious bedrooms; the master with a king-size bed, two sets of bedside drawers, a wardrobe and hairdryer and the twin bedroom with two single beds, a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The generous size bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC. Both bedrooms boast feature fireplaces.

Outside, guests are offered an allocated, off-road parking space for one car. The cottage does not  feature a garden or outside space however, the main harbour, beach and coastal path are just  a short walk from the property, as are all the village amenities, including friendly pubs, restaurants and a wide variety of food and gift shops.

A well equipped and comfortable cottage. It's centrally situated in Seahouses which in turn is a very good base for exploring the area. There are lots of cafes, restaurants and take aways. The property doesn't have a garden and there is direct access to a moderately busy road.

We stayed at Cheviot Cottage for 4 nights and were absolutely delighted by it's charm and character and also the quality of furniture and beds. Popular Seahouses, known to many as ‘the village by the sea', is the ideal location for a seaside holiday or short break in Northumberland. This picturesque coastal village is an excellent base from which to explore the whole of the Northumberland Coast and countryside.

Famed for its picturesque harbour and panoramic views of the spectacular Farne Islands, the bustling fishing village of Seahouses features everything you would expect from a seaside holiday and more. All the beaches in the area are dog-friendly, while there is also a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted. For the adventurous, there are breath-taking coastal paths to trek or scuba diving to enjoy and for those interested in local history, there is a broad spectrum of historical landmarks to discover nearby including the magnificent castles of Bamburgh and Alnwick.

There are boats trips taking visitors to see the spectacular wildlife habitats on the Farne Islands all year round. But if you’d rather stay on land there is Bamburgh Castle Golf Club, one of the most scenic golf courses in Britain, or guided walking tours of the beautiful coast to indulge in. Helping to maintain the character of the village, the variety of independent shops provides a unique shopping experience as well as a great opportunity to get your hands on some delicious local produce.
