Unwind in style at this beautiful stone cottage set in the idyllic grounds of one of Northumberland’s finest country houses, with the coastal delights of Beadnell’s sandy cove close by.
Though maybe not quite as grand as the region’s more fabled fortifications, Ellingham Hall is undoubtedly impressive. Built in the 17th century, it became a boarding school and is now an exclusive venue. Your cottage is situated on the estate, which is a glorious mix of woodland, streams and lawns. It’s a blissful location, yet if you can pull yourself away from the heavenly setting there’s plenty to enjoy nearby. A short stroll takes you to The Pack Horse Inn, while the pretty village of Beadnell is set on a sandy bay renowned for water sports – a walk along the dunes is especially rewarding. Further afield, the Grace Darling Museum, Alnwick Castle and Seahouses are all under ten miles away.
Entering the cottage via your own front door, the hallway leads to a bathroom with WC and a ground-floor double bedroom with walk-in wardrobe. The capacious kitchen/dining area includes a Range Master cooker, dishwasher and washing machine, with seating for six at the dining table. Stairs lead up to the first-floor lounge, an elegantly decorated room comprising a pair of sofas, TV, DVD and music system, with the cottage’s sloping roof adding an extra-cosy ambience. Both double bedrooms on this level are tastefully furnished, the first featuring an en-suite bathroom, the second a walk-in wardrobe; another bathroom with shower over bath and WC is adjacent to this bedroom. Stylish wooden flooring runs throughout the property, providing warmth underfoot.
The enchanting front garden is lawned and includes garden furniture and a BBQ for outside entertaining. Parking for 2 cars plus off road parking available.
