Generous in space, style and welcoming touches, this lovely property offers a relaxing home from home at the seaside. Perfect for a family holiday, including the dog or a friends’ get together.

The former home of an original Seahouses' boat builder, this spacious house has been sympathetically refurbished to capture some of its original features, even using some of the remaining boat-building materials in order to offer you a unique holiday home from home. Wander to the beach for a picnic, take the coastal path to Bamburgh and you will see the magnificent Castle views guiding your every step. Take a boat trip across to the Farne Islands to see a myriad of birdlife and puffins at certain times of the year. Cross the causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne for a magical day and visit Beadnell Bay for the water sports and sand dunes.

Enter this welcoming holiday home through the front door and into the hallway where there are coats hooks and space for your boots and shoes. The beautifully presented lounge is off to the left where you can settle back into the two large, comfortable sofas and the cushioned window-seat after a busy day on the beach. Snuggle together in front of the cosy wood burner and perhaps watch a film on the Smart TV. Heading through to the spacious, open-plan kitchen/diner you are greeted by light flooding in through the almost wall-to-wall bi-folding doors and skylights in this super extension of the original property. Here you can cook up a storm for your family or friends on the gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher. There are two more comfortable sofas to relax on while keeping the chef company or you could spend time reading and there is another TV here too to watch while you prepare a meal. You can then all dine together indoors overlooking the garden or head outside to the raised decked patio for an al-fresco meal. There is a useful separate WC with washbasin just off the hallway. Take the stairs to the first floor for the three lovely bedrooms, all with a TV. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with a wardrobe and drawers to store your things and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has a double bed and open storage and the third bedroom has twin beds, a long mirror and plenty of storage so you can all unpack and relax. The bright family bathroom has a large ‘P’ shaped bath with a shower over so you can enjoy either a long soak or a refreshing shower.

Outside, the raised decking area has a patio table and seating for al-fresco dining and original wood from the boatyard form the four steps down to the rest of the garden. There is a side gate for easy access and a gate leading to a short cut into the village. To the front, you can park two cars on the private driveway.

  • 3 bedrooms - 1 king-size, 1 double, 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC, 1 en-suite shower room with WC and 1 separate WC
  • Electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher

  • Smart TV in the lounge and TV in dining area and all 3 bedrooms

We couldn't fault the location of the cottage, it was perfect for us. The cottage was a great size for our family, they loved the fact that there were two living spaces so they didn't have to sit with their parents of an evening. We would definitely return to stay and recommend to our family and friends

This is a lovely cottage ideally located for a visit to Seahouses. It's a great space with seating in the open plan kitchen diner as well as a separate living room. Unfortunately the weather stopped us from enjoying the lovely garden and decking too much. Good communication from the owners and some great recommendations on eating and shopping are iRead moren the information folders. We would just like to add the Black Swan to the food recommendations as we had a great meal there. Hide

A Venetian blind would be a good addition to the twin bedded room as the blind lets sunlight in the side and at 5.30am you dont really want to be woken up by the sun streaming onto your face. Also its difficult to get dressed with the blind up as everyone can see you from the road.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we could possibly want or need, and we enjoyed the log fire, particularly when the weather meant we had couldnt spend too long on the beautiful local beaches! The large enclosed garden was brilliant for the dogs, and the gate on the stairs made it easy to keep them downstairs. Great house! So well equipped, modern, warm and comfortable. We all had a great week there over Xmas and didn't want to come home! Close enough to walk to the beautiful beaches which our dog loved as much as we did. (Also the best stocked Co-op I've ever seen is only a minutes walk!)

Slightly disappointed with this cottage, did not live up to our usual expectations. More so the en suite with its joke of a bathroom basin. Cannot fault the property or the location, everything was perfect, our whole party thought so. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to a friend. Restaurants and supermarket less than five minute walk, very short easy walk to the center and harbor of Seahouses where you can get a boat trip to the Farne Islands.
