No 1 Weatherly Street managed to be cosy without feeling cramped. In a cold and windy week in early May we greatly appreciated the well-fitting windows and doors! The stove was nice to use, but the central heating was very good and we didn't really need the extra heat. Excellent cottage with good facilities. The area is outstanding and has some of the best beaches in the UK. Even in mid-July, the sense of space is fantastic. Bamburgh and Low Newton by the Sea are beautiful for walks on the beach. The dramatic coastline with Dunstanburgh Castle is stunning plus the castle at Bamburgh. Bamburgh bangers from the butRead morechers in Bamburgh are to die for and Alnwick is also a place to visit. You can go to the castle and/or the gardens which are lovely but a little pricey to enter and there is the slight downside of them also charging you for parking!! The town though is also beautiful and worth a little wander round. Also remember to take a boat ride around the Farne Islands, we were lucky enough to see dolphins! There are also the seals and the puffins plus all the other fantastic bird life. Parking charges are amazingly good value with Bamburgh having a free car park and a number of other car parks charging a very minimal price. The Northumberland coast is stunning and if you are yet to go, I would highly recommend it, just don't tell everyone! Hide
