We chose the cottage because of it's location - nice and central for the places we wanted to visit. It is a lovely place, with all the comforts. Beds were warm and comfy, kitchen well equipped, and decor was lovely. The bathroom was a bit small, but there is an ensuite too. It was fine for us (3 adults) Everything on one level and a ramp path up toRead more the front door (great for anyone with a disability) Hide

The property was all we could have hoped for and enabled a very relaxing break. Close to many beautiful places and great venues for meals out. Very comfortable property in a quiet village. Being next to the train line didnt bother us at all.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage .Although the bed wasnt the most comfortable Ive slept on,everything was as described on the website. The close proximity to the railway was not a problem, far less intrusive than the average main road, and nothing in the early hours.Ideally placed for the sights we wished to visit.

This cottage is only really suitable for 4 people max, as its very compact with no wardrobe space in the second bedroom. Location is good but over all it needs some TLC, such as a refresh of the internal paint work and more dishes and cutlery to fully make use of the dishwasher.

Very comfortable cottage and in a great location to access many areas of Northumberland. The trains were very noticeable however after a couple of days we got used to it. There arent any amenities in the village itself, however it is only a couple of minutes drive to Embleton. We found the cottage to be well equipped and thoroughly enjoyed our stayRead more. Hide

Very well presented holiday retreat in a lovely location. However I do think more should have been mentioned about the main railway line running right behind property as it was constant with trains all through day and night and the property shook when they went through...that said...after a few days it didn't trouble us as much as it did initially.Read more The cottage location in a lovely village and short drive to the beach was a winner. Great location. Trains go past frequently but you hear a 10second whoosh and thats all. Some noise through wall from adjacent property especially in single bedroom. Very clean and well equipped. Shame there was no welcome pack such as milk and biscuits and more local info would be helpful.

The cottage was wonderful, clean and decorated to a high standard and was dog friendly. It's would of been beneficial to have local amenities and things in the surrounding area. The wild life was fabulous and friendly neighbours. The only downside was the trains run all night but quickly got use to them.

Cottage is central to all areas, not much in the small village but plenty of areas to visit. Cottage has everything you need. If you like a firm mattress then this is the one for you. The freight trains do run through the night but they go at a lesser speed so the noise did not bother us, in fact it was quite soothing to hear the low rumble.
