Property Detail

New Cottage!

Beach Retreat is part of a farm conversion in the hamlet of Newton by the Sea. It is a single storey, 3 bedroom cottage which has ample space for 8 guests. It is ideally situated right next to the beach and the beautiful sandy dunes and benefits from stunning views. Beach Retreat makes an ideal holiday or short break whatever the season.

Beach Retreat has beautiful wood flooring throughout. There is a large lounge, which has views to the sea from south facing windows. It is equipped with a large flat screen TV with freeview, and DVD player. As you would expect from a family home, the kitchen is well equipped with hob, double oven, large fridge, dishwasher, microwave and a dining table for informal meals. The cottage also has a washing machine, tumble drier and freezer. All rooms are heated by electric wall heaters which are independently operated.

The dining room, adjacent to the kitchen, has a door which leads out to the garden and a large porch that has become a useful drying and storage area – ideal for outdoor clothes and wet suits. There are two double bedrooms and a third bedroom which has 4 bunkbeds. All the bedrooms benefit from south facing windows with views of the boat yard and beach. There is also plenty of drawer and hanging space in each room.

There is a modern family bathroom with bath and shower attachment, WC and hand basin. Next to the bathroom is the shower room which has a double size shower cubicle and WC.

At the front of the cottage there is a grassed area, ideal for enjoying the afternoon and evening sun of Newton Bay and  beyond. The beach – a safe, sandy expanse which stretches south to Dunstanburgh Castle – is just a few steps from the house and the proximity of the small village green with the much praised Ship Inn is an added bonus.
