There are 3 Fish and Chip Restaurants in Seahouses all centrally located. Lewis’s, Pinnacles and Neptune all offer a full range with pots of tea, and bread and butter. Available to eat in or take a portion away to while enjoying the views from the Harbour, or back at your cottage.

The Black Swan Inn (2 Union Street), situated at the top of the Harbour offers a good range of home cooked food, offering good value and generous portions, in their restaurant in the back room of the pub.

The Bamburgh Castle Inn has great views over the harbour and along to Bamburgh Castle. The food is traditional pub grub but the portions are huge, you can take a half portion for £7.00. It also has a beer garden, so you can enjoy your meal outside on warm summer nights overlooking the harbour.

And close by...

Visit The Ship at Low Newton, a 10 minute drive for Seahouses, right next to the beach. On a hot sunny day you can sit outside on the grassy front, and enjoy fresh crab sandwiches while watching the fishermen bring in their daily catch. Or try the freshly caught Newton lobster (for around £20 - £25) if you want to treat yourself. Good food, good location, and a good atmosphere mean it is essential to book a few days in advance. The Ship also has its only micro brewery, so if you’re a fan of real ale why not try a pint or two of Sand Castles at Dawn, Dolly Day Dream or Ship Hot Ale. (The Ship does not take any type of card payment)

For good home cooking we recommend dishes such as the Steak pie at the Dunstanburgh Golf Club in Embleton. Head to Embleton village, a 15 minute drive south from Seahouses, take a narrow road to the beach, the club house is at the bottom of the road. A short pathway across the course takes you onto the beach if you wish to take a walk before or after your meal.

At the top of the same road is the Sportsman’s hotel which offers excellent cuisine bit is slightly more expensive. It has a lovely atmosphere, good service and excellent view of Dunstanburgh Castle.
