This stunning cottage is a fully restored 18th century, stone, self-catering holiday cottage in Bamburgh, Northumberland. It sits across the cricket field below Bamburgh Castle, which can be seen through the windows to the east and south. Ideally situated within a minutes’ walk of the beach and Bamburgh village, this is a great location to explore all that is on offer in Northumberland and beyond.
Pepperclose Cottage faces south with a delightful south-facing private terrace with table and chairs by the front door. The door from the kitchen opens on to a large paved terrace with a dining table and barbecue, with views of the coast. The garden gate opens on to a grassy path running down to the dunes and beach. The living room has a log stove, comfortable seating, a flat screen Freeview TV, DVD and stereo with iPod dock. A fully equipped kitchen includes a modern Neff electric oven and hob with microwave, washer/drier and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms both with en suite facilities.

Pepperclose Cottage is a luxury self-catering holiday cottage in Bamburgh, Northumberland for a family or group of four.
A light and airy sitting room with a dining table is at the centre of the cottage. There is a log stove, comfortable seating and masses of books, pictures and prints, giving the cottage a very homely feeling. A flat-screen Freeview television, DVD, stereo with iPod dock and weathered oak furniture, quality pictures and prints, and a real sense of style make this the perfect home from home.
The granite-topped kitchen, opening from the sitting room, has views down to the beach, and is equipped with everything that one could possibly wish for, including a modern Neff electric oven and hob with microwave, washer / drier, dishwasher, and an extensive range of kitchen utensils.

Special interest holidays
Ideal for walking all year round. There is information on local attractions in the cottage. Ideal base for geologists and bird watchers as access to the Farne Islands is from Seahouses Harbour. Bamburgh Golf course is situated at the end of The Wynding with many other courses to choose from nearby.
Travel
From the South continue past Newcastle and Morpeth on the A1 (M), following signs for Berwick. As you reach Belford, turn right off the A1 down the B1342 towards Bamburgh, just before the castle and cricket pitch take the next left turn in to The Wynding. Pepperclose Cottage is a few yards down on the right in a small courtyard, no 18 The Wynding. From the North continue past Berwick on the A1 (M), following signs for Alnwick. Turn left off the A1 on to the B1342 at Belford, then as above.

Bamburgh Beach offers a mile of uninterrupted sand and dunes between Budle Bay and Beadnell, with marvellous views of Bamburgh Castle. Northumberland has lots to offer the holidaymaker. There are many castles besides Bamburgh Castle; these include Alnwick, Chillingham, Dunstanburgh, Lindisfarne, Norham and Warkworth.
The National Trust own three major properties in the area: Wallington Hall, Cragside and Seaton Delaval Hall. English Heritage properties include Lindisfarne Castle, Brinkburn Priory and Berwick-upon-Tweed Castle. Being close to the Scottish border Floors Castle, Manderstoun House and Mellerstain are accessible. For those interested in gardens, we have the world famous Alnwick Garden on our doorstep.
Hadrian's Wall and many Roman forts are open to the public. Vindolanda, Chesters and Housesteads are all worth a visit for those interested in the Roman period. Hadrian’s Wall is a World Heritage Site and draws visitors from all over the world.
The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is accessible by a tidal causeway to the north of Bamburgh. The tarmac causeway is totally immersed by the sea twice a day, the times changing with the tides.
The Farne Islands can be reached by a variety of boats from Seahouses. There, one can see one of the largest colonies of grey seals in United Kingdom waters. The puffins are very attractive in their spring plumage and are always a great favourite with children.
Whatever your interests, you can be assured that you will find many things to enjoy in this stunning county, staying in what is without doubt the premier coastal village on Northumberland's Heritage Coast.

A deposit of a third of the price of the holiday (or a £100 minimum) will be required to secure the booking. The balance is to be paid six weeks before your holiday starts.
