Herring House

Herring House is situated on Crown Street, close to Seahouses village centre. This spacious end terraced, stone property comfortably sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms.  The property has great charm with many period features but all the modern amenities you would expect from a quality holiday home including oil central heating.

Herring House provides an ideal base for a holiday in Northumberland. Not only is the property conveniently located near to the village centre but all the Northumberland attractions are within easy reach.  You can take a trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses harbour and there are stunning beaches to the north and south within walking distance of the cottage.  The market town of Alnwick and the Cheviot Hills are only a 15 drive away as are Holy Island and Lindisfarne to the north. 

Changeover day
Saturday (3 night weekend breaks and 4 night midweek breaks available off-peak)

Accommodation
Bedroom 1 : Double with pine dressing table, wardrobe and bedside cabinets.
Bedroom 2 :

Twin bed with pine furniture.

Bedroom 3 : Bunk bed with furniture and storage.
Kitchen : Fully equipped dining kitchen including cooker, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and microwave. All crockery, cutlery pots etc are provided. 
Bathroom : Electric shower over bath, basin and WC
Living Room : Comfortable settee and chairs around a fabulous wood burning stove set in a large stone fireplace.  Flatscreen TV, DVD, freeview digibox, CD player and Radio provided.
Cleaning/towels/

: Duvet, linen and towels are provided. Changed weekly for two week or longer stays.
Outside : There is space at the rear of the property for off-road parking and somewhere to sit out and enjoy a peaceful afternoon.

There is off-road parking to the rear of the cottage.

Coast/Beach
Only a few minutes walk to the harbour and beautiful beaches.  Other coastal villages including Beadnell, Craster, Low Newton, Bamburgh are within easy reach.

Special interest holidays
Ideal for walking all year round. There is a selection of information about local attractions in the cottage. Ideal base for geologists and bird watchers as access to the Farne Islands is from Seahouses Harbour.

Travel
From the South continue past Newcastle and Morpeth on the A1 (M), following signs for Alnwick. Take second exit for Alnwick (Alnwick Gardens), and follow signs for Seahouses (13 miles) along the B1340. As you pass Beadnell on the right, you will bear left along the coast towards Seahouses village. After Seahouses Golf Club on the right, you will arrive in Seahouses village.

Within ¼ mile, you will come to a Jet garage on the left. Head towards the mini-roundabout. Just before reaching the mini-roundabout take a right turn, which takes you behind the shops which are on Main Street and to the back of the properties on your right, which is Crown Street. Herring House is the first property on the right as you head down this road.

Further details
At Seahouses you are literally surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. Within a short walk of the cottage are many attractions of Seahouses itself. The harbour is just around the corner and there are many pubs, shops and restaurants to choose from along Main Street.

The Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat trips from Seahouses harbour. Great for bird lovers and geologists.

The historic town of Alnwick is only fifteen minutes drive away where you will find a thriving, historic market town with something a bit special! Even if you are not green fingered, a visit to Alnwick Gardens is a must, where you can stroll around the stunning gardens and waterfalls. Harry Potter fans of all ages should visit Alnwick Castle (or Hogwart’s School) and relive some of the favourite scenes from the popular films.

The Heritage coastline is dotted with castles and villages and stunning beaches – ideal for walking all year round. The Cheviot Hills are only a short drive away offering superb views across to Holy Island and Lindisfarne. Alternatively, a stroll along the coats to Bamburgh Castle (only 1 mile away) or a visit to Holy Island are both ideal for a family day out.

Booking notes
A deposit of a third of the cost of the holiday (or a £100 minimum) will be required to secure the booking. The balance is to be paid six weeks before your holiday starts.
