Gable Cottage is a spacious 3 bedroom cottage in the old harbour area of Seahouses. Located on a quiet street, just around the corner from the harbour, this cottage is an ideal spot for a peaceful break but close to the local amenities.
Gable Cottage was beautifully renovated in December 2009 and has been equipped with carefully chosen furniture to compliment its original character and charm. The beautiful original stone fireplace has been restored in the living room and fitted with a wood burning stove. This cosy, softly lit room has comfortable leather sofas, an antique dresser and a 32 inch flat screen TV with a DVD player and freeview. The brand new kitchen has space for dining for six. Upstairs there are 3 comfortable bedrooms and a newly fitted modern bathroom. Brand new electric heaters have been fitted throughout the house making this cottage the perfect home from home all year round.

Notes on accommodation
Gable Cottage was completely renovated over the Winter 09-10 and the cottage now
provides a high standard of accommodation for up to 6 people in a great location
on a quiet residential street close to the village centre. This careful
renovation included the restoration of the original character of the property
including the inglenook fireplace in the lounge, combined with quality furniture
and modern fittings to create a fabulous holiday home. Guests who stay here will
not be disappointed and those that have stayed have already re-booked!

Ideal for walking all year round. Ideal base for those interested in geology and
bird watching as there is access to the Farne Islands from Seahouses Harbour.

Travel
From the South continue past Newcastle and Morpeth on the A1 (M), following
signs for Alnwick. Take second exit for Alnwick (Alnwick Gardens), and follow
signs for Seahouses (13 miles) along the B1340. As you pass Beadnell on the
right, you will bear left along the coast towards Seahouses village. After
Seahouses Golf Club on the right, you will arrive in Seahouses village.
Within ¼ mile, you will come to a Jet garage on the left. Opposite the garage,
turn right onto Dunstan View. Taylor Street is the third road on the right just
before you reach the harbour.
Further details
At Seahouses you are literally surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt
for choice for things to do and places to visit. Within a short walk of the
cottage are many attractions of Seahouses itself. The harbour is just around
the corner and there are many pubs, shops and restaurants to choose from
along Main Street.
The Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat
trips from Seahouses harbour. Great for bird lovers and geologists.
The historic town of Alnwick is only 10 miles away where you will find a
thriving, historic market town with something a bit special! Even if you are
not green fingered, a visit to Alnwick Gardens is a must, where you can
stroll around the stunning gardens and waterfalls. Harry Potter fans of all
ages should visit Alnwick Castle (or Hogwart’s School) and relive some of
the favourite scenes from the popular films.
The Heritage coastline
is dotted with castles and villages and stunning beaches – ideal for walking
all year round. The Cheviot Hills are only a short drive away offering
superb views across to Holy Island and Lindisfarne. Alternatively, a stroll
along the coats to Bamburgh Castle (only 1 mile away) or a visit to Holy
Island are both ideal for a family day out.
Booking notes
A deposit of a third of the cost of the holiday (or a £100 minimum) will be
required to secure the booking. The balance is to be paid six weeks before
your holiday starts.
